Leitrim councillors are calling for the government to urgently introduce a fodder-support scheme, with animal feed vouchers.
Farmer and Fianna Fáil councillor near Leitrim village, Paddy Farrell, says it's needed due to the extremely wet summer and a severe fodder shortage.
He tabled this motion at a meeting of Leitrim County Council yesterday, and it was passed by councillors.
