The IFA is encouraging farmers to take time to review working practices and ensure their farms are safe places to work
The call comes as there have been six deaths on Irish farms this year with almost 200 over the last ten years.
Farm Safety Week aims to shine a spotlight on safety issues as the farm remains one of the most dangerous workplaces in the country.
Junior Agriculture Minister, Martin Heydon is calling on farmers to identify one change they can make to make their farms safer.
''There's no safe time on our farms. But this is an opportunity during farm safety week for farmers to take stock and to realise that notwithstanding all of the pressures and rushing that happens this time of the year at harvest time that farmers need to understand their farms are replaceable assets, and everything can be replaced but the farmer themselves.''
