ESB crews are working hard this afternoon to restore power to properties across the region following Storm Isha. Thousands of homes and businesses in the region could be without power for a number of days following yesterday's storm. The aftermath of Storm Isha is being felt by ESB customers across the Shannonside region without thousands of properties still without power this afternoon.
Crews restored power to hundreds of homes in areas such as Castlerea, Carrick-on-Shannon and Longford this morning. However, close to 20,000 properties remain without electricity with the current estimated restoration time six o'clock this evening. Boyle, Ballaghaderreen and Fourmilehouse were the worst-affected areas where thousands of customers are still waiting for power to return. According to ESB Networks, over 230,000 customers were left without power nationwide while Roscommon was one of the worst affected counties in the country. The ESB has also warned that it may take days to fully restore power at properties in some areas of the country.
