A feasibility study to explore the potential future use of Donamon Castle and its surrounding lands is currently being carried out.
The Divine World Missionaries who are based in Roscommon since 1939 have commissioned the survey having secured LEADER funding.
The centre was home to The Cuisle Accessible Holiday and Respite Care centre until it closed in 2019 and now provides accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.
Fr George Agger says the aim is to find out what facilities might be needed in Donamon that will support the needs of the local community going forward.
He's encouraging the public are being urged to complete to study which is available on surveymonkey.co.uk.
It's in the context of the Divine World Missionaries always wanting to help or be supportive and involved in the development of the area.
Now with just 8 people left in the castle, you know we don't need all of the facilities that were there when when we had 90 or so students.
There are possibilities that we wouldn't even imagine, like the Ukrainians being here.
