A woman in her 50's has died in a road traffic collision in Roscommon today.Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that happened shortly after half past ten this morning on the N5 at Tibohine near Ballaghaderreen in County Roscommon.
The pedestrian; a female aged in her late 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The N5 at Tibohine between Ballaghaderreen and Frenchpark was closed to facilitate and examination by Forensic Collision Investigators but has since fully reopened to traffic.Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
The collision is the third fatal incident to happen on roads in the region over the past few days with a male motorcyclist losing his life in Leitrim last Friday, and a second motorist who died following a collision in Longford on Saturday.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N5 at Ballaghaderreen between 10am and 10:45am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
