Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael Deputy Frank Feighan has said he's sorry if he was sitting less than 2 metres from a fellow TD outside Leinster House last week, but he is serious about social distancing.
He was commenting on a front page story on today's Irish Mirror newspaper which shows him, Deputy Peter Burke and Deputy Carroll McNeill sitting outside Dail Eireann last week.
The story claims that the three were breaching the two metre social distancing rules.
Mullingar based Peter Burke has commented to the paper that the picture is misleading and he refutes the accusation.
Deputy Feighan says he also takes the safety advice about Covid-19 seriously and has tried to adhere to it at all times, and apologises if he was sitting closer to his colleagues than he should have been.
