Fianna Fáil has added former TD Eamon Scanlon to its general election ticket in Sligo-Leitrim. The 70-year-old, from Ballymote, will join Sligo councillor Edel McSharry in a two-candidate strategy in the constituency.
Scanlon had a long career as a councillor, senator and TD before losing his seat in the Dáil in 2020. He says he's delighted and honoured to be added to the ticket his time:
