A local Fine Gael candidate has condemned the defacement of campaign posters in the run up to the General Election. Two pairs of sunglasses were added to one of Senator Micheál Carrigy's posters in Longford over the weekend. Senator Carrigy said such acts were unwelcome as local candidates prepare for the election on the 29th of November. He did, however, see the funny side of the new accessories added to the images of both him and Taoiseach Simon Harris. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said it could be a sign of brighter days ahead as Ireland goes to the polls:
