Fine Gael may yet add another candidate in Roscommon-Galway, says Shannonside analyst

A Shannonside political analyst says a Fine Gael Senator may yet be added to the party's General Election ticket. Ivan Connaughtion was speaking following the party's Roscommon Galway selection convention last Friday night. Cllr John Naughten and Arigna woman Dympna Daly Finn were chosen to represent the party.

A party directive indicated the decision to run one candidate in the north of the constituency and one in the south. Daly Finn was therefore chosen as the only candidate in the north while Naughten defeated Ballinasloe Senator Aisling Dolan in a tight vote. Speaking to Shannonside News, however, Ivan Connaughton said the party could decide to run Dolan as a third candidate:
