Fine Gael has finally found a candidate to represent the party in the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District in the local elections.
School teacher Maeve Reynolds is expected to be confirmed as its candidate at a selection convention next week.
She is the only candidate nominated ahead of the close of nominations this evening.
Ms Reynolds is from Annaduff and lives between Jamestown and Drumsna.
She's aged in her 30s and has three children.
Fine Gael found it difficult to find a candidate to run in Carrick, after sitting councillors Finola Armstrong-McGuire and Thomas Mulligan decided not to seek re-election.
