Two fines have been issued to taxi drivers in the Shannonside region this year following complaints made to the regulator.
Details released to Shannonside FM under Freedom of Information reveal that no complaints were made about taxi drivers in Longford or Roscommon so far this year.
Two complaints were lodged with the regulator in Leitrim - including one where a driver did not explain they were a hackney and not a taxi.
The complainant claims that the driver took the passengers on a 15 minute journey which cost 40 euro and the driver was subsequently fined for not providing a receipt.
Another complainant claims that the taxi driver did not have their meter turned on over-carried two people without the passengers' knowledge and pulled over 5 minutes into the journey and demanded the customer pay €10 each.
The taxi was fined again for failing to provide a receipt.
Up to the end of August, 246 complaints had been received in relation to the taxi industry nationally.
