A man and woman in their 90s are the first nursing home residents in Roscommon to receive to Covid 19 vaccine.
93-year-old Seamus Beirne, originally from The Lodge, Carrick-on-Shannon was the first resident at HSE facility Plunkett Community Nursing Unit (CNU), Boyle, Roscommon to be vaccinated today.
96-year-old Eileen Cox a native of Grangemore, Boyle also received the vaccine today.
Director of Nursing, Dr. Mary Butler, says staff and residents will feel more protected and has added to improved confidence and greater resilience for staff against the COVID-19 virus."
All staff and residents will each receive a second dose, to be fully protected, in three weeks.
