Sitting Roscommon county councillors, Paschal Fitzmaurice (FF) and Valerie Byrne (IND) look set to retain their seats as they top the final tallies in the Roscommon and Boyle LEAs.
The Fianna Fáil councillor sits on 1,845 first preference votes, followed by party colleague Marty McDermott and independent Anthony Waldron.
Whereas, Nigel Dineen (Independent Ireland), Larry Brennan (FF), and Gareth Scahill (FG) are all tallying high in the Roscommon area.
The count in Roscommon is due to get underway shortly.
Meanwhile in Boyle, Valerie Byrne appears to be out in front with 1,574 first preference votes. Byrne is followed by Sinn Féin's Leah Cull and Independent candidate Micheál Frain.
