Fitzmaurice says Galway footballers can win All-Ireland after historic win over Dublin

A Roscommon-Galway TD says the Galway footballers can win their first All-Ireland title in 23 years after their historic win over Dublin yesterday.

They edged out the defending champions by 17 points to 16 at Croke Park in the quarter-finals.

Roscommon had no such luck, losing to Armagh by six points in their last-eight encounter.

Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice, who played for Galway minors, says the Tribesman could go on to win their first All-Ireland since 2001.
