Five puppies have been rescued after they were dumped in Co Longford.
The ISPCA received calls about Pointers running loose around the area earlier this month. Members of the public captured three of them, and a search operation was launched to find the others. The dogs are currently being cared for by the charity, with anyone with information on the origin of the puppies asked to contact the ISPCA's National Animal Cruelty Helpline Inspector Karen Lyons rescued the dogs along with help from the local community.
