Padraig Pearses manager Pat Flanagan is urging his team onto make it two-in-a-row as they look for a successful first defence of the Roscommon championship.
Pearses face St. Brigids in Sunday’s Roscommon senior final which is Live on Shannonside FM with Flanagan admitted it is different to 12 months ago.
“When you’re in pursuit of winning your first it’s totally different” explains Flanagan. “You’re anxious if you have enough in the tank, if you have enough mental work done to get over the line.”
“When you achieve that, it brings on its own problems for the following year, so this year is very different, we want to hold onto it and that is a difficult challenge.”
“The whole idea of winning a championship is to be at your best when your best is needed, our best is going to be needed on Sunday.”
“We will have to get up to a different level than were we have been for the last couple of games. I think we can take it a step higher on Sunday.”
