A Leitrim councillor is calling on the local authority to urgently investigate damage caused by a flash flood yesterday evening.
Fine Gael councillor Enda McGloin says serious damage was caused in the village of Ballinaglera yesterday evening after a "freak" cloudburst between 4 pm and 6pm.
He says a local business suffered flood damage as well as many roads where parts of them were swept away with the force of the water coming down into the village.
Councillor McGloin says he's asked the council to do whatever is possible to restore damaged roads and to help any homeowners if they have problems accessing their property…
