Thousands of euro worth of damage has been caused to roads and homes in the wider Rooskey area after flash flooding last night.
Heavy downpours of rain resulted in rivers of rainwater ripping up tarmac and entering people's homes in Lavagh and Kilgarve.
Approximately two hours of heavy rain resulted in water coming downhill with Roscommon County Council delivering sandbags to people's homes in effort to keep out floodwaters.
Despite neighbour's best efforts, some homes were damaged, including Sean Sherwin's, where over an inch of water entered his home and forced him to stay with neighbours last night.

Seamus Bourke lives a few kilometers away in Kilgarve where water running downhill entered his home and caused significant damage to the roads in the area.
