John Mulvihill from the Capital Projects Office at Leitrim council says they've already been carrying out works close to the villages to allow water flow more freely in the local rivers.

The council had considered the original request to be too large to process.

The court has adjourned a decision on whether the works can restart in the meantime until the end of this month.
