A program is to be rolled out this autumn to let flowers and plants grow wild on two roundabouts approaching Longford town.
The July meeting of the Longford M.D heard a proposal from Councillors Gerry Warnock and Peggy Nolan to use roundabouts as sites for pollinator friendly planting.
Environment officer Gary Brady confirmed that before Covid 19, it was hopes to develop a number of roundabouts under the All Ireland pollinator program.
Two roundabouts will see no cutting of grass and the planting of wild flowers this autumn, with hopes a further three to be developed in 2021 subject to funding
