A former student at Carrick on Shannon Community School has been recognised as a top student in mathematics at Trinity College.
The Hamilton Prize recognises the top mathematical students in their final year of study as nominated by their university.
Ryan Mc Gowan from Roosky, along with eight other students, achieved the prestigious prize at a ceremony in recent days at the Royal Irish Academy.
In recognition of their mathematical excellence, the students each received a cash prize, a certificate of achievement, and attended a masterclass with the Hamilton Day Lecture speaker.
