Former Environment Minister feels turf controversy will do more harm than good for bogs

The controversy over turf that has broken out in recent weeks will actually do more harm to our environment.

That's according to Roscommon Galway Deputy Denis Naughten who says a totally wrong approach has been taken to the issue.

The Independent TD says that while a phasing out of solid fuel was agreed during his time as Minister, it was planned that alternatives would have been made available to people before banning fuels.
