Former MEP Chris McManus has been chosen to represent Sinn Féin in the general election in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
He beat Sligo councillor Thomas Healy at a selection convention in the Sligo Park Hotel tonight, in a vote to decide who would represent the party on the Sligo side of the constituency.
TD Martin Kenny has been confirmed as the Leitrim representative, with the party running a two-candidate strategy in Sligo-Leitrim.
McManus was an MEP between March 2020 and July 2024, but he lost his seat in the recent European elections.
