A report from the Road Safety Authority shows 4 out of 5 of all road deaths this year have taken place on rural roads.
It also found the most dangerous times on the roads are noon and 4pm.
As the bank holiday comes to an end and many staycationers travel home, the roads are expected to be busy right across the country.

With many road deaths occurring on rural roads and, in particular roads with an 80-kilometres-an-hour speed limit, Brian Farrell from the RSA is asking people to be aware of busy afternoon traffic.
