The Chief Executive of a new construction company believes Longford is the ideal location to grow a business.
Frame Space which is based at Aghafad has today announced 150 new jobs with an investment of 8 million euro in the new manufacturing facility.
They're also working with a number of local suppliers in the production of Steel Building Systems.
Declan Murtagh CEO of the firm says a skilled workforce and a facility of its size also attracted the firm to the county.
He hopes today's announcement will be of benefit to those who have lost jobs in this region over the last two years.
There's been a lot of negative press in Longford around job losses over the last few years. In this facility that we stand in at the moment this facility closed two years ago with the loss of 200 jobs. Some of those guys are actually employed in our facility now. And then you've also Bord na Mona you know a lot of jobs hundreds of jobs lost there, so we have the access to a skilled and energetic and dedicated workforce here in Longford and that was one of the main reasons we located here. Also, the facility here that we're in at the moment is 120,000 square foot allows us the ability to to expand.
