Fine Gael's Frank Feighan is heading back to Dáil Eireann having been elected on the 11th count in Slig0-Leitrim.
Feighan exceeded the quota after the transfers of Edel McSharry (FF) totalling 12,241 votes. Resulting in a non-distributed surplus of 860. Whereas, Feighan received 8,980 first preference votes.
Chris McManus of Sinn Fein will now be eliminated with his total of 6,932 to be distributed. Indeed, the remaining three seats are expected to be filled without reaching the quota.
Whereas, Martin Kenny (SF) sits second on 10,218, third is Eamon Scanlon (FF) 9,740 votes. Whereas, the fourth seat will be a battle between independent Marian Harkin 8,306 and Independent Ireland’s Michael Clarke 7,969.
