An temporary solution has been reached to keep Frenchpark post office open.
The branch was due to close on September 16th due to the retirement of the post master.
However, An Post has confirmed Yvonne Mitchell has withdrawn her resignation and will continue operating the service until the New Year.
Speaking to Shannonside FM, Yvonne's son Padraig hopes by then an agreement between the Government and An Post on a package for post offices will be made.
A meeting which was due to take place tomorrow evening in Frenchpark over the closure has now been cancelled.
Over 700 people signed a petition in recent days to keep the post office open.
