A Frenchpark resident says the community is bemused and baffled by the construction of a new safety measure on approach to the village.
Padraig Mitchell believes the structure encroaches halfway onto the Boyle road which has also seen the removal of some resident's parking.
The local man says while there is a major problem with motorists speeding through the village, these works don't adress the issue.
He claims there's a bad feeling in Frenchpark over the structure and a long term safety plan is needed for the village.
"It's the most ridiculous structure that I've seen go into Frenchpark and there's been a few of them, especially on the corners, and nobody can understand this at all. A longer term-plan for the village, even in terms of traffic and management, instead of little works here and there, would most certainly be welcomed".
