The Chairperson of Castlerea Town Team says residents and business owners have been left frustrated by ongoing power outages following Storm Darragh. Susan Gaynor's 92-year-old grandmother is one of those affected and is in her third day without power. She lives in the Ballinlough area and is insulin dependent but has been left without water and heat since Saturday.
Susan says she's fortunate to have family living close by but some elderly residents have been left to fend for themselves. Speaking to Shannonside News, she said family members rallied to her grandmother's aid:
