The President of Carrick on Shannon Chamber of Commerce says traders continue to be frustrated by the slow progress of work on the town's Main Street which has led to its closure for the past three months.
The street was closed off to traffic at the beginning of July but work didn't start until August and the Chamber of Commerce says there was also a stoppage between the end of August and the beginning of September.
The local authority has asked for a public outdoor meeting to take place last Friday afternoon with traders who wanted to ask questions about the project.
Chamber President Colm Mc Grath says traders were told that the project will be stepped up in the near future and that the company will finish a certain section so as to allow Christmas trade to go ahead unhampered.
He says even with assurances there's still a lot of frustration and very little obvious reasons for the slow pace of the scheme.
