The full extent of the Covid cases centred in Athlone have been revealed in new figures published by the Department of Health.
Over 100 cases of Covid were recorded in the Local Electoral Areas on both sides of the River Shannon in Athlone in the middle of last month according to the Covid-hub.
The Department of Health has also published the highest incidence rates, by local electoral area and the data from the Covid hub covers the period from the 15th of June to the 28th of last month.
A total of 32 cases were confirmed in the Roscommon LEA- with eight in the Boyle M.D and 50 in the Athlone M.D in Roscommon - resulting in an incidence rate of 250 -
The Westmeath Athlone-Moate M.D also recorded 70 cases of Covid in the two week period - returning an incidence rate of 350 per 100,000.
The south Longford area recorded the highest number of local cases in the county during June - with 14 cases in the Ballymahon LEA with fewer than five cases in the Granard and Longford town electoral areas.
In Leitrim, the 14-day profile reveals that seven cases were recorded in Carrick-on-Shannon LEA in the period analysed - with five cases in the Ballinamore MD and less than five cases in Manorhamilton.
