Just under 21 thousand euro has been allocated to local authorites to support the increased participation of women in the 2024 local elections.
The funding was announced last week by Minister for Local Government and Planning, Kieran O’Donnell.
Roscommon will receive €10,200. while Longford is set to benefit from €5,250.
Westmeath has also been approved to receive €5,500.
The Minister says he hopes the funding will help to create council chambers that more reflect the communities they represent.
