Funding has been approved for flood mitigation works at the river Feorish in Ballyfarnon.
Minister at the Department of Public Works Patrick O' Donovan has announced that 31,500 euro has been allocated to the project to minimise the impact of the river bursting its banks.
Roscommon County Council will now undertake the programme of works.
Minister Frank Feighan says it will help improve access to the village and surrounding areas in floods.
