A major investment has been approved for Carrigallen Vocational School in county Leitrim.
Minister for Education, Norma Foley has approved funding to construct 11 General classrooms, four Classroom SEN bases, three SET rooms, a Multimedia room, a Textiles room, and a Science lab.
The funding amount is not published as the project has to go through a tender process.
In welcoming the announcement, Sligo Leitrim TD and local Minister of State, Frank Feighan TD has paid tribute to the School Principal, Declan Conboy, and Board of Management and the Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training Board for their work on the application.
Chairperson of the Board of Management, Councillor Paddy O' Rourke says it's the largest single investment since the school was first built.
