The Department of Education is set to announce funding for extra classrooms at two Roscommon schools. Under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme, five new rooms will be developed at two national schools in the county. The funding will go towards new mainstream classrooms in Taughmaconnell NS and Cloonfad NS.
Cloonfad National School will also see the development of three new Special Education rooms. Speaking to Shannonside News, Senator Eugene Murphy welcomed the funding and said it was part of ongoing investment in rural schools:
