Funding has been granted for the expansion of a west Roscommon primary school.
The Department of Education has confirmed this week St. Attracta's National School in Ballaghaderreen has been successful in its application under the Additional Accommodation scheme.
The expansion will provide for seven new general classrooms, an en-suite toilet and an assisted toilet with two Special Needs rooms included in the plans.
Senator Eugene Murphy believes the development will be of great benefit to the pupils, staff and the whole school community and is greatly welcomed.
