Over €38,000 has been earmarked for the upgrade of walks and trails across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
It comes as Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, has announced funding worth over €400,000 for the improvement of local outdoor trails.
County Roscommon was allotted a total of €18,549 for upgrade works at Lung Lough Gara Way and Suck Valley.
Meanwhile, in County Leitrim, the Leitrim Way Trail has been granted funding of €10,000, which will go towards resurfacing, installation of drainage and the construction of a bog bridge as well as two picnic benches.
Finally, €10,000 was also given to the Cavan Way trail in the Breffni County, which will be spent to establish a re-route of a 2km section of the outdoor site.
A total of €38,549 was secured for the region out of a €408,000 funding boost that will upgrade 43 trails across 14 counties.
