A fundraiser to help clear debt Roscommon woman Tori Towey built up due to her Dubai ordeal, has raised over €6,000.
The GoFundMe appeal was set up by her cousin, Nicole McElroy, to help her clear credit-card and car-loan charges.
The fundraiser says she was the victim of physical and psychological abuse, as well as financial control.
Tori returned home last Thursday after the Dáil was told she was subjected to domestic violence in Dubai.
She was charged with alcohol consumption and attempted suicide after the alleged incident, but the charges were lifted after the Irish government intervened.
In a social media interview, Ballaghaderreen native Tori, who has lived in Boyle in recent years, explains how political intervention also helped her travel ban be lifted.
