Over 100 members of the 62nd Infantry group in Syria will be running 5 and 10 k races as well as half marathons this morning to raise funds for the Colm Horkan memorial fund.
The event has been organised by Niall Kilcrann from Rooskey in Roscommon who says there's been a great response so far for the effort.
The Charlestown Sarsfields GAA club which is the club behind the memorial fund project will also run a virtual race alongside the soldiers in Syria this morning.
Niall Kilcrann says the response to the fundraising has been very good so far and they hope to raise a lot more money by the time the day is over…
