A fundraising Sleep out in aid of the Midlands Simon Community and Longford Rugby Club will be held in the town tonight.
The event will see dozens of people brave the elements at the Longford Rugby Club and spend the night outside in order to raise funds for both groups.
The Midlands Simon Community was founded in 2003 with volunteers working to support individuals, couples and families experiencing homelessness.
Both the Rugby Club and the homeless service are set to be the beneficiaries from the event tonight.
Donations can be made online or in person, with information available on the Rugby Club or Midlands Simon Communiity website.
President of the club, Donnagh McDonald is urging the public to get behind the event.
"The gofundmepage is open as well. There'll be a link to that from the Facebook page and a lot of people who are sleeping out will have cards as well. It should be good fun, there should be a good crowd down there. I think there's more people sleeping out this year than there was last year. We're doing it at a little bit of a better time of year. Last year it was in November and I must say it was cold! It would make you think about people who are unfortunate enough to not have a home and are forced to sleep out"
