A unique charity event is hoping to raise much needed funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
The event will see a group of players from Ballyhanunis GAA club solo a hurling ball from the Mayo Hospice in Castlebar to Roscommon Hospice, which is a distance of 100kms.
It's under the guidance of Roscommon Camogie manager Frank Browne.
Launched at Croke Park earlier this week, the initiative was backed by RTE's Jacqui Hurley and hopes to raise money for local hospice services as well as the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Assocation.
The challenge will take four days to complete and will commence on March 23rd.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Frank Browne said Hurling for Hope is a novel idea and he hopes more sports stars will get involved.
