Funeral details have been confirmed for a Roscommon businessman who died after he was struck by a stolen car last month.
Ian McDonnell tried to stop thieves from taking his car on January 23rd and attempted to intervene.
However, he was struck by the grey-coloured Volkswagen Passat, and was carried a distance on its bonnet.
Passers-by found Ian with life-threatening injuries, and raised the alarm - he was rushed to Tallaght Hospital for treatment but passed away last Friday.
Garda investigations are continuing into the incident and it is understood that a number of people of interest have bene identified by Gardaí.
The married father of three will repose at the family home in Lucan on Sunday next before he will be removed to t. Patrick’s Church, Elphin on Monday ahead of his funeral mass next Tuesday and burial afterwards in Caldra Cemetery.
