The funeral takes place later today of former District Court judge and TD Seamus Hughes.
The 69-year-old passed away on Tuesday having served as a judge in the midlands district since 2009.
He sat on the bench in courts such as Longford and Athlone for many years and was described as a very calm, measured, and decent individual by Taoiseach Micheal Martin following his death.
He is survived by his wife and four children and his requiem mass takes place this afternoon at 3.30pm in St. Mary's Church, Westport with burial afterwards in Aughagower Cemetery.
