The Ireland East Hospital Group need to outline why it has rejected a plan for a multidisciplinary team for the paediatric diabetic clinic at Mullingar Hospital,
That's according to Sinn Fein's Sorca Clarke who says that while interviews have been held for the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner, the lead consultant has made the case that this appointment needs to be part of a wider team including a Senior Dietician and a Clinical Psychologist.
A business plan was put forward by the hospital for a Clinical Psychologist, but that was not approved, and the service will not re-open without these supports.
