There's been some relief to the record numbers seen waiting on hospital trolleys in recent days.
However HSE Clinical Lead, Dr. Colm Henry, says the country has 'not yet peaked' when it comes to winter flu.
According to the Health Service, 360 people are waiting on trolleys in emergency departments this morning with 96 people waiting over 24 hrs.
Dr. Colm Henry says although this shift is positive we are not out of the crisis yet:
Some relief since last Tuesday, where we saw a very severe amount on trolleys and people waiting huge amount if times in emergency departments an people waiting to be seen and assessed.
There were clear safety concerns and our staff responded and or staff responded with extraordinary commitment.
