Further flight disruption can be expected in the coming months following strike action by French air traffic controllers over the bank Holiday weekend.
220 flights were cancelled by Ryanair because of the the strike, with the low-fares airline calling it 'completely unacceptable'.
Eoghan Corry - Editor of Air and Travel magazine - says pressure is mounting on French authorities to facilitate 'overflights' during industrial action.
'The French are quite nationalistic in terms of air traffic control and every time the French unions go on strike. Other flights are also affected. There are big issues that have been talked about for years and if the actions of the last few days have done anything it been to highlight that.'
