It's hoped Longford County Councillors will receive an important update today on the ongoing boil water notice facing 17,000 people in the county.
The notice was brought in almost one month ago following water quality issues at the Lough Forbes Water Treatment plant.
While an audit of the site last week found further actions were required on the filtration system, the plant is currently producing safe water.
Irish Water representatives will meet with Longford County Councillors this afternoon to discuss the situation and the recently completed Environmental Protection Agency audit.
The boil water notice remains in place for the moment.
