The development of a state of the art GAA centre of excellence in Roscommon will have major positive effects across multiple sectors. The plans were unanimously approved by Roscommon County Councillors at a special meeting yesterday. The plans will see 3 new full-size grass pitches with 15 & 20 metre high floodlighting, 2 new AstroTurf pitches and warm up areas and a seated spectator terrace.
The development also includes a ball wall area, a perimeter walking/running track, a new amenity building incorporating offices, canteen, gym & dressing rooms along with car, bicycle and EV parking. The proposed centre of excellence will be built at the Racecourse Road, Ballyboughan, Roscommon.
