Roscommon's GAA Centre of Excellence will be of huge benefit to young people across the county, according to a local councillor. Fianna Fáil's Larry Brennan was speaking as the facility moved one step closer following the purchase of council land outside Roscommon town.
The local authority confirmed the €240,000 sale of over 11 acres at Carrownabrickna and Ballyboughan on the Racecourse Road. It will incorporate three full-size floodlit grass pitches, two new astroturf pitches, warm-up areas and a stand for spectators.
