A sister who has been in a Boyle convent for over two decades says she is "very sad" to be leaving, as it prepares to close down. The Sisters of Mercy have run the Galilee Spirituality Centre since 2001, but Sisters Mae, Olive and Margaret are moving to Roscommon town and Athlone in September.
The six-bedroom Boyle property, which overlooks Lough Key and Lough Arrow, is now on sale. Sister Olive has been in the convent since it opened 23 years ago:
